Climate Change

 Climate Change

Climate change now political?

Somehow Climate change has gone from being a serious matter that everyone should be fully aware of to a matter of opinion and picking sides. In many people's minds, they think Climate change is a 'hoax' or that it's not essential. No matter all the facts that are presented to some of these people they still refuse to accept it. I believe many of the reasons why this Global issue has become so politically based is that major figures have spoken their opinions such as Donald Trump “Ice storm rolls from Texas to Tennessee - I’m in Los Angeles and it’s freezing. Global warming is a total, and a very expensive, hoax!” — Donald Trump, Dec. 6, 2013. This leads to everyone who follows and respects his opinion to blindly believe this quote. Without questioning it themselves or educating themselves about Climate change. This is the case with a lot of people when their political figures give a statement they then foolhardily believe.

Why is Global Warming important?

Nine of the twenty warmest years have been recorded since 2001 and every year gets warmer and warmer. It may be at 2 Fareigheight but after every year that will add up to a serious problem. Since 2012 thirteen percent of the arctic ice has melted and is the lowest ever on record. Another instance of Climate change is the rising sea levels, the sea has risen 7" over the last 100 years. The carbon dioxide levels are the highest the world has ever seen on record. According to NASA, the Ice sheets are losing almost 428 metric tons of mass every year. Now if you look at all these results of Climate change you see that they all are linked. With the melting ice caps that play a part in the rising sea levels the rising heat in our atmosphere is what is melting the ice.

Why should we care about Global Warming?

The first step in having a real solution is that everyone needs to be on the same page. Our world will need to slowly transform into an emissions-less world by at least 40+ percent says TIME. Then follow many other changes to our world. But none of this will be possible unless serious rules are put in place because we only have 12 years to fix our problems before its irreplaceable.
